Renewal design of the only hotel located in the national park of the Oirase Gorge. As a foundation to the plan, we prepared a master plan for the renovation of the entire hotel area, including environmental and landscape improvement. As the first stage of the implementation of the master plan, we started from the lobby and lounge area of the Oirase Keiryu Hotel East Building (built in 1991).
In this renovation design, the fireplace canopy "Myth of the Forest" by Taro Okamoto, which is the symbol of the hotel, is intended to allow guests to gather and relax more than ever before., adjust the size of the fire place, re-select furniture, arrange it while considering barrier-free, and change the floor level to create a space where a large number of people can enjoy the fireplace and the scenery outside. In addition, the reception lobby has counters, furniture, and wall graphic design with the motif of the scenery of the Oirase Gorge, making use of the legacy chandeliers to bring together the space.
